Overview
To change the graphics in a Neo theme is simply to change the background image as well as the icons found on the left hand side. Below are examples of the graphics you will need to change.
Graphic Examples
- All the following images are found in the /windows folder.
- If you need help locating this folder, please see this helpful guide.
How to Hide Icons
- Step 1: As you see above, there are 2 types of icons, inactive and active, and all are found in the /windows folder. (Note: a couple of programs- like the notification panel will have a 3rd type of a icon.) To hide them you must basically replace the icon with a "blank" or "invisible" icon...a graphic that has no content in it.
- Active Icons: Light up when you scroll down on to it (the program becomes "active.")
- Inactive Icons: What you see when the program is not 'actively' being used; when it is just resting on the side
- Step 2: Go to the \windows folder
- Step 3: Find the icons that you want to hide, and their names. Again they all begin with CHome.
- Step 4: If you want to hide the icons when you are NOT using that program, you will need to look for the inactive icon. if you want to hide the icon whether or not the program is being used, you will have to find all the names of the icons associated with that program.
- Step 5: Download and extract this blank image.
- Step 6: Change its name to the icon you want to hide.
- Remember that it must have the exact same name and extension (they all should be .png files anyways.)
- Step 7: Replace it back in the \windows folder. It should ask you if you want to overwrite, if not recheck all the steps.
- Step 8: reboot
- Hint of advice: Do one and test it out before you go hog wild!
