Matching the Status Bar to your Theme

Instructions

  • The goal is to simply make the top (battery) bar (aka "status bar") appear part of the picture. There is no way to make the top bar "transparent" but you can make it flawless!
  • To do this, you will first need a graphics editor
  • Before making an edits, you will need your desired background picture cropped to have pixel dimensions of 240 (wide) and 295 (height).
  • Next, with your graphics editor you need to edit the picture with exactly the following dimensions, file types and names shown here:
    • Status bar:
      • File Dimensions: 240(w) x 27(h) pixels
      • File Type: png
      • File Name: CHome_framework_status_bar_bg.png (if using Rinku's Dockstation also save a duplicate as CHome_Iconbar_Background.png)
    • Background pic:
      • Dimensions: 240(w) x 268(h) pixels
      • File Type: png
      • File Name: CHome_framework_background_p.png
  • Place your new Status Bar in the /windows folder on your phone.
  • Reboot or change themes and change back and you are in business

An Example

  • Let's use the following as an example (the shading is added simply to make it look good):
Image:bgfullneofull.png This is a full picture. This is the original picture that is going to be cropped.
To make things easy, it is best to start out with the graphic having dimensions 240(w) x 295 (h)
  • Next, you need to crop it to the following pieces and save each piece with the appropriate names:
Image:bgfullneofull.png Image:CHome_framework_status_bar_bg.png CHome_framework_status_bar_bg.png (240x27)
Image:CHome_framework_background_p.png CHome_framework_background_p.png (240x268)
  • Next, place the 2 cropped pieces in the /windows folder and reboot. Note: if using the dockstation, will also need to include the CHome_Iconbar_Background.png file (which is the same as the CHome_framework_status_bar_bg.png file with a different name)
  • Now it will appear as:
Image:Screen01pg0.png
The Final Result!!!

Using Invisible Graphics to get More Background

  • The goal is replace some graphics on the home page with one that is invisible and get more background showing. Yep, that simple.
File Name/ Invisible Download Pre-invisible Post-invisible
CHome_framework_glass_p.png Image:CHome_framework_glass_p_pre.jpg Image:CHome_framework_glass_p_post.jpg
CHome_framework_NavIconSelectionPanel.png Image:CHome_framework_NavIconSelectionPanel_pre.jpg Image:CHome_framework_NavIconSelectionPanel_post.jpg
Some other invisible files that can used are CHome_framework_TextGlow_p.png, CHome_framework_textpanel_NoNPI_p.png, CHome_framework_textpanel_p.png. To be honest, not sure what they do!
